[October 9, 2024] -- PET Acoustic Panel, a manufacturer specializing in environmentally friendly PET acoustic felts, today released the results of its latest research detailing the differences in acoustic performance of its products at different thicknesses. This research provides consumers with a more precise selection guide to help them achieve optimal acoustic performance in specific application environments.
3D Acoustic Panel's research team tested samples of acoustic felts of different thicknesses, including 5mm, 10mm, 15mm and 20mm, in a series of tightly controlled experiments. The test results showed that as the material thickness increased, sound absorption improved significantly in the lower frequency bands (e.g. 125Hz to 500Hz). For example, PET Acoustic Panel with a thickness of 20mm achieved a sound absorption coefficient of 0.75 at 125Hz and 0.85 at 500Hz, compared to 0.35 and 0.55 respectively for 5mm thickness at the same frequencies.
In the high frequency band (e.g. 1000Hz and above), even the thinnest 5mm PET acoustic panel shows good sound absorption performance. This shows that in environments where high frequency noise needs to be controlled, such as open plan offices or classrooms, satisfactory results can be achieved with thinner panels. And when the application environment needs to reduce low-frequency noise, such as a recording studio or music rehearsal room, choosing a thicker panel will be more effective.
“3D Acoustic Panel has always been committed to providing customers with acoustic solutions that best suit their needs.” PET acoustic panel's R&D director said. “The results of this study clearly demonstrate that we are able to provide excellent sound absorption performance across a wide range of frequencies. Whether in the home, office or professional recording venue, consumers will be able to choose the most appropriate PET acoustic panel product for their needs.”
In addition, the study found that 3D Acoustic Panel offers excellent fire resistance and durability while maintaining good sound absorption properties. The products have passed a number of international certifications, including ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification, ensuring reliability and environmental friendliness.
PET acoustic panel will continue to push forward with technological innovation and is committed to providing users with more diversified and higher quality acoustic products. A detailed report of the study will be released on the company's official website and a detailed presentation is planned for an upcoming industry exhibition.
